IMPHAL - Budding designers and models recently present a vibrant fashion show, displaying traditional handloom designs with a modern twist in Imphal.

Organised by Blue Ocean, one of the leading fashion designing institutes of Manipur, the show called ‘Yenning’, was a platform for young designers and models, to display their talents.

“The theme of the fashion show is ‘Yenning’, meaning ‘living with nature’. Nature and people’s behaviour are changing, and we are using these changes and have tried to depict them in the fashion show,” said S.K. Singh, managing director, blue ocean academy.

Models in the traditional Phanek, the Manipuri traditional dress, teamed with modern blouses, in various colours and interesting accessories sashayed down the ramp.

Organisers believes that the shows like these will help to boost the morale of design students and also bring into light the novel aspect of the traditional handloom industry. (ANI)
