Governor accepts Abdullah’s resignation

SRINAGAR - Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra Tuesday accepted the resignation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah after the opposition linked him to a 2006 sex scandal.

Abdullah submitted his resignation to the governor, who asked him to remain in office till a successor is sworn in. Abdullah became the chief minister of the National Conference-Congress coalition government in January 2009.
