Gaza toll rises to 1,133

GAZA - The toll in the Israeli operation against the Hamas-led militant groups in the Gaza Strip has risen to 1,133, emergency officials said here Friday.

Gaza emergency chief Mo’aweya Hassanein said three Islamist gunmen and three children were killed in separate Israeli attacks early Friday.

He added that the children were killed in southern Rafah town and northern Jabalia area.

In another development, 23 bodies were retrieved from the debris of a building in Gaza City’s Tel Hawwa neighborhood.

Hassanein said the toll in Friday’s attacks across the salient stood at 29, while the toll since the Israeli operation started in the Gaza Strip Dec 27 has risen to 1,133. Around 5,150 people were also wounded in the attacks.
