G-8 condemns North Korea’s nuclear test
L’AQUILA, Italy — Group of Eight leaders have condemned “in the strongest terms” North Korea’s nuclear test and ballistic missile launches.
A G-8 statement Wednesday says North Korea’s actions “pose a danger to peace and stability in the region and beyond.”
North Korea conducted a nuclear test in May, and ballistic missile launches in April and again just days before the summit.
The G-8 leaders urged North Korea to refrain from further violations of U.N. Security resolutions and to engage in dialogue, including the six-party talks.
The statement also urged the reclusive nation to address concerns about humanitarian issues.
