Former minister found dead in Chennai

CHENNAI - Former minister P.T. Saraswathy, 75, was found dead at her residence Tuesday, police said.

The body of Saraswathy, minister for social welfare between 1977 and 1980, was recovered from her house in the heart of the city following an alert by an aide. The cause of her death was not known, the police added.
