Five dead, 16 injured in Jharkhand bus accident

RANCHI - Five people died and 16 were injured when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a wide ditch Tuesday morning in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, police said.

The bus skidded off the road as the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell in a ditch in Banhi village of Hazaribagh district, around 110 km from here.

The condition of five of the 16 injured is said to be serious and they have been referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, for treatment.

The bus was travelling from Ranchi to Darbhanga district in Bihar.
