Firing reported near police training academy in Lahore

ISLAMABAD - A blast occurred near a police training academy in Pakistan’s Lahore city Friday followed by an exchange of fire, media reported.

Gunshots were being heard from a distance of half a kilometre from the police training academy, Geo TV channel quoted an eye-witness as saying.

There was no further detail about the incident.

Gunmen had attacked the police training academy in the city March 30, killing at least eight people.
