Elderly man killed in house fire

NEW DELHI - A 78-year-old man was charred to death when a fire broke out in his house in Rajouri Garden in west Delhi early Sunday.

The incident took place in N.P. Rathi’s residence at around 4.10 a.m., a fire officer said.

“We received a call Sunday morning about a fire in a house. Three fire vehicles were rushed to douse the flames. Rathi was found dead on the first floor of the house,” the officer said.

Police are trying to ascertain the cause of fire.
