Eight civilians killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD - Eight Iraqi civilians were killed Friday when gunmen opened fire at a brick factory in Diyala province, the police said.

The victims include six women and two men. One child was wounded in the attack.

A police official requesting anonymity said that the gunmen barged into the factory and began spraying bullet at them before escaping. The incident occurred in Bladrouz, some 30 km from the provincial capital.

The police have launched a search to capture the accused.
