EagleBank Bowl goes post-Christmas for 2009
WASHINGTON — The second edition of the EagleBank Bowl will get a better time slot than the first.
Bowl organizers announced Thursday that the only bowl game played in the nation’s capital will take place on Dec. 29 and kickoff at 4:30 p.m. (EST).
The game will match Army, if the Cadets are bowl-eligible, against an Atlantic Coast Conference team. If Army is not bowl-eligible, a team from Conference USA will be selected.
Last year’s inaugural EagleBank Bowl kicked off at 11 a.m. on Dec. 20 — the first bowl game of the season. Despite matching two teams from the region — Navy and Wake Forest — the game drew only 28,777 fans to RFK Stadium.
