DivX, NEC Electronics sign licensing deal
SAN DIEGO — Video technology company DivX Inc. said Tuesday it has signed a multiyear licensing agreement with Japanese chip company NEC Electronics Corp.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal is to integrate DivX’s high-definition technology into NEC chips designed to power Blu-ray players, digital televisions and set-top boxes.
Shares of DivX rose 10 cents, or 2 percent, to $5.14 in afternoon trading.
