Detroit Free Press, news partnership get top execs
DETROIT — The Detroit Media Partnership and Detroit Free Press have announced their new top executives.
Susie Ellwood will become chief executive of the Detroit Media Partnership, which oversees the business operations of the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News.
She succeeds David Hunke, who previously held that post in addition to his role as publisher of the Free Press. He was named USA Today’s publisher Tuesday. Ellwood had been the partnership’s executive vice president and general manager.
Paul Anger, who had been the Free Press’ editor and vice president of news, becomes editor and publisher. Anger led the reporting that last week won a Pulitzer Prize.
The announcement was made Wednesday by McLean, Va.-based Gannett Co., which owns the Detroit Free Press and USA Today.
