NEW DELHI - A Delhi policeman was beaten up, stabbed and robbed allegedly by three motorbike-borne assailants Tuesday, an official said.
The incident took place in Harsh Vihar area of northeast district around 1.30 p.m. when Ajab Singh, posted as a constable with the Connaught Place police station, was returning home from his duty, a police officer said.
‘He had just alighted from an auto rickshaw when three assailants on a motorcycle attacked him from behind,’ a police official said.
‘They stabbed him twice on the thigh. Singh sustained injuries and before any one could have helped, the robbers fled from the spot. They snatched his wallet,’ the police added.
Singh was taken to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where he is under treatment.
