NEW DELHI - Delhi Urban Development Minister A.K. Walia Thursday asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to maintain cleanliness around its metro line on Vikas Marg in the capital following several complaints from people.

“There is accumulation of debris and garbage beneath the Vikas Marg metro line and people living in the area feel that the DMRC has not been able to maintain its high standards and proper cleanliness,” said Walia.

Walia, who visited the colonies in vicinity of the Vikas Marg metro station Thursday, has directed DMRC to take proper care of the central verge and maintain it as per determined standards.

“DMRC and Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been asked to depute senior officers to personally take stock of the situation and get abreast with ground realities,” he said.
