NEW DELHI - Delhiites had no respite from the heat Thursday as the capital continued to sizzle under the scorching sun.

However, the weather officials forecast dust storms/thunderstorms during the night due to convective clouds.

‘The sky will remain partly cloudy. Formation of convective clouds due to the high mercury levels can bring dust storms and thunderstorms in the night time. A dip in the temperature can be expected,’ an official at the Safdarjung meteorological office told IANS.

The mercury further soared in the capital Thursday, with the maximum temperature recorded at 41.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the normal and the minimum at 28.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.

The humidity level was 61 percent, 22 percent above normal.
