NEW DELHI - Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit Tuesday became the first member of the Delhi Daredevils Club.

Srinivas Bommidala, Chairman, GMR Sports, presented the first member club card to the Chief Minister.

‘This is a momentous occasion for cricket in Delhi. The Delhi Daredevils members club is an excellent idea to involve more and more people into the game, increase its popularity and create greater awareness and commitment,’ said Dikshit.

‘Thank you very much for this card. Since I cannot give it to anyone, I will be coming to some of the matches myself,’ she said with a smile and then also gave Rs. 999 as her fee for the Membership. ‘

While many of Delhi Daredevils’ players are engaged in national duty in New Zealand and many others are busy in domestic competition, two of the Delhi stars, Mithun Manhas and Rajat Bhatia, flew in for the launch of the Members Club.
