NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange:

Deere & Co., down $1.31 at $43.78
The world’s largest maker of farm equipment posted a 27 percent decline in third-quarter profit, but easily beat expectations.
BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc., up 67 cents at $31.99
Food deflation and weak consumer spending hurt results, but the warehouse club chain still beat analysts’ estimates and raised its full-year outlook.
Alcoa Inc., down 44 cents at $12.48
