DC subway worker dies after hit by train last week
WASHINGTON — A worker on the Washington Metro transit system has died of injuries from being struck by a train last week.
Metro officials say 44-year-old John Moore, of Arlington, Va., died Monday of injuries suffered in Thursday’s accident.
The communications technician was hit by a six-car train between the Braddock Road and Reagan National Airport stations in northern Virginia.
Metro says Moore is the third employee to die on the job this year. Train operator Jeanice McMillan was killed in a June crash that also claimed the lives of eight passengers. Track repairman Michael Nash was killed in August when he was struck by a gravel spreader.
