Bangladesh ferry capsizes at dock; 15 dead
DHAKA, Bangladesh — Authorities say a ferry packed with people going home for an Islamic festival capsized as they disembarked at a terminal in southern Bangladesh, leaving at least 15 dead and scores missing.
Local police official Saiful Islam says the missing people are feared trapped inside the ferry.
He says the accident occurred late Friday in Bhola district, 64 miles (104 kilometers) south of capital, Dhaka.
Islam says the ferry was carrying several hundred people when it partially sank at the terminal as passengers scrambled to disembark.
