Covidien closes sale of sleep products

NEW YORK — Medical device maker Covidien said Monday it completed the sale of its sleep diagnostics assets to Embla Systems.

Financial details of the previously announced deal were undisclosed.

Embla is part of Iceland’s privately held Flaga Group. The deal includes selling products under the Sandman brand as well as design/development, sales administration, technical service and shipping facilities in Ottawa, Canada and global sales and service functions.

Shares of Dublin-based Covidien fell 12 cents to $41.36 in morning trading.
