Court documents detail Mass. child’s alleged abuse
WORCESTER, Mass. — Newly released court documents allege that a Worcester man charged with killing his 7-year-old son choked the boy, hit him with a belt, shoved him into the wall, sat on him and struck him in the stomach.
Much of the alleged abuse took place while 36-year-old Leslie Schuler’s fiancee, Tiffany Hyman, looked on but made no attempt to stop it.
The documents were released Thursday at the request of The Telegram & Gazette newspaper following a six-week impoundment requested by the prosecution.
Schuler is charged with murder and several counts of assault and battery. He is being held without bail. Investigators said the boy, who moved from Alabama to live with his father, was severely beaten on June 21, Father’s Day, and died a few days later.
