Correction: Forced labor conviction story
NEWARK, N.J. — In an Oct. 14 story about a verdict in a forced labor trial, The Associated Press reported erroneously that U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman would seek a life sentence for a woman convicted of human trafficking and visa fraud. A statement from Fishman’s office said a sentence of up to life in prison is possible, but the office said it has not yet determined what sentence it will seek for Akouavi Kpade Afolabi.
