Conn. police don’t think dorm fire prank was funny
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Police at Central Connecticut State University say three young men purposely burned popcorn in a dorm microwave, then tied students’ doors shut to make them think they were trapped in a burning building.
Authorities arrested the three after the smoky prank early Monday at Vance Hall in New Britain. No one was hurt.
Charges including reckless endangerment and reckless burning were filed against two 18-year-old students from Wayne, N.J., and Goshen, N.Y., and a former student from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who transferred to a Florida school.
The two Central students have been suspended.
