Conn. man in critical condition after saving dad

GRISWOLD, Conn. — A 20-year-old eastern Connecticut man who family members say has saved his father’s life twice in the past year is in critical condition from burns suffered when he pulled his dad out of a burning home.

Officials say Kyle Landa, of Griswold, saved his quadriplegic father’s life by dragging him out of bed during the weekend while the family home was burning.

Last July, Landa pulled his father out of the family pool and resuscitated him. Family members say that on Saturday, after getting his mother and his father out of their burning home, Kyle collapsed outside, badly burned.

He’s in critical condition in the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital.
