Cisco, Pelco to develop HD video security cameras

CLOVIS, Calif. — Pelco Inc., a video and security systems company, said Monday that Cisco Systems Inc. will use its technology to develop high-definition Internet protocol video security cameras.

The co-branded video security cameras will use Pelco’s Sarix technology, which enables advanced low-light performance, auto focus, full-frame-rate video and other functionality.

The cameras are expected to hit the market by the end of the year.

Clovis-based Pelco is a unit of French company Schneider Electric Co. Shares of Cisco, a networking equipment company in San Jose, rose by 23 cents to $23.63 Monday.
