China concerned over attacks on Indian students in Australia

CANBERRA - China has joined India in asking Australia to provide improved protection for foreign students after a series of violent racist assaults on Indian students Down Under.

“There are over 130,000 Chinese students in Australia. They have, on the whole, had a good study and living environment in Australia, but attacks on Chinese students also occurred in recent years,” said a spokesman of the China’s Embassy in Canberra.

“It is hoped that the Australian government will provide better protection to international students from China and other countries,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted the spokesman, as saying.

The Australia’s Government said on Wednesday that racism is not behind the violent attacks on Indian students, including the latest slashing of a man in Melbourne by a group of five youths.

The latest attack has redoubled fears that violent bashings and robberies of Indian students could seriously damage the Australian education sector, which is the third-biggest export earner (12.38 billion dollars market) for overseas students. (ANI)

The problem with white people is that they still think they are the sole inheritors of everything on this earth while people who express melanin are mere dependents who need to beg the white people for sustenance. The whites see Indians in Australia as a threat to their jobs and places in the education system. This is just their desperate attempt to instil fear in people of colour with the false anticipation that it will drive away all the students from the country. I am a Brown Australian Hindu and will also indicate just how much racism is present in this country in all facets of life whether it is shopping at the supermarket or trying to get an education. A brown person has to put in 100% effort to obtain the same goal a white person may get with just 25% (less than HALF ASSED) of effort. White people have no right to decide who can come and go in this country and if anyone has any right to claim who can stay it is the Aborigines. I sincerely hope they don’t mind the presence of Indians in Australia and can proudly say that none of our Ancestors have ever invaded another land, slaughtered the native population and driven them to the status of flora and fauna while making the beautiful land a dumping ground for degenerates.

Mark,

Your comment is extremely valuable and I thank you from my heart for that. I wanted to know all along what the Aboriginal Australians think about this issue as they have suffered in the hands of settlers like no others. Your colonies have been decimated over the centuries and only few of your remain as far as I know. I would highlight your comment in a separate article.

Best,
Ansguman

As an Aboriginal Australian I am ashamed to say that the racism being suffered by Indian Students in Australia is just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to entrenched racism in Australian Society. Unfortunately Australia’s export of its educational services in many ways helps maintain and disguise Australia’s appalling racism record. As an Aboriginal Australian I would ask Indian Students living in Australia to help expose Australia’s racism to the world and perhaps vote with their cash when deciding where to invest their education money.
