Chidambaram meets Bhutan King

THIMPU - Visiting Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram called on Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck here on Saturday.

According to Kuensel News, the two leaders are said to have reviewed bilateral relations and discussed issues of mutual importance to both countries.

Chidambaram is on a three-day visit to Bhutan.

On Friday, Bhutan’s Home Minister Lyonpo Minjur Dorji, Foreign Secretary Daw Penjo and Indian Ambassador to Bhutan Pavan K. arma received Chidambaram at the Paro International Airport,

Chidambaram is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y Thinley and other Bhutanese government officials.

Senior Ministry of External Affairs officials, including Joint Secretary (North), Satish C. Mehta are accompanying Chidanbaram on the visit. (ANI)
