NEW DELHI - Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Prithviraj Chavan’s hands will be full with the most number of portfolios, while two ministers have been promoted to cabinet level.

Besides being MoS in the PMO, Chavan is MoS (independent charge) for personnel, public grievances and pensions, a portfolio which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had kept with himself in the previous government.

He is also MoS (independent charge) for parliamentary affairs, science and technology and earth sciences.

Anand Sharma, who was minister of state for external affairs and parliamentary affairs, in the last government has been elevated to the cabinet rank with the key portfolio of commerce and industry.

Subodh Kant Sahay, the only Congress MP from Jharkhand, has been promoted to the cabinet level in the same food processing industry ministry that he had previously looked after as minister of state.
