SOFIA - A 13-year-old boy in Bulgaria died while imitating a TV reality show, a media report said.

The police received a message around 7.30 p.m. (1730 GMT) Monday that a boy’s body was hanging from a monkey bar on a playground in Kozloduy town.

According to preliminary information, Martin Martinov had suggested to his younger playmates a game imitating the extreme TV reality show ‘Fear Factor’. The participants in the show compete by overcoming different obstacles.

Martin reportedly told his friends that he was going to show them how the game is played. He wrapped a metal bike cord around his neck and locked it to the monkey bar.

The teenager died when he could not reach the key to unlock the cord, which was lying on the ground.
