UK military: suspected explosive found at RAF base

LONDON — The British military says it is investigating a suspected bomb found at U.K. air base.

The Ministry of Defense says that what could be an improvised explosive device has been discovered at RAF Lyneham.

The air base is one of the largest and busiest Royal Air Force hubs in Britain.

The military says an explosive ordinance disposal team is on site. It said Tuesday it was too early to comment further.
