According to the British Airways strike update, Willie Walsh, Plc Chief Executive Officer of British Airways will attend a meeting with the union leaders of Unite to hold off the strike and save the company from incurring million dollars loss.
As per the British Airways strike update the members of Unite, the cabin crew union, still has not changed their mind about the strike yet the leaders of the union will meet Willie Welsh, for an ‘unconditional’ discussion. Official sources of Unite stated that their general secretaries, Derek Simpson and Tony Woodley will represent the union in the meeting. The meeting has a great significance for the union as well as the company and they are hopeful about a positive turn out of this meeting.
Cabin crews of British Airways, who were not satisfied with some of the Human Resource policies of the company has decided to call the strike in protest of the policies. The reports indicate, working conditions, pay scale and job cuts are some of the causes leading to the strike. If the Unite union does not change their mind and withdraw the strike then several passengers who have booked tickets during the strike period would experience trouble. To avoid customers’ inconvenience and to save the company from loss, the authorities have not only called the meeting but also appealed for a court injunction that will restrict the strike.
