Blast in Islamabad, five injured

ISLAMABAD - At least five people were injured in a powerful bomb explosion followed by firing in this Pakistani capital Saturday, a media report said.

The blast occurred near a check post of the Frontier Corps (FC) in Jinnah Super Market in Islamabad, Geo News reported.

Four to five people were injured in the blast, which was followed by an exchange of fire between security men and unidentified attackers, the channel added.

The incident has set off panic among residents of the area.
