BHOPAL - At least four unidentified people opened fire at a police team during a surprise check in Gwalior town of Madhya Pradesh Friday, injuring two policemen, an official said.

During the surprise check near a hospital at Bahorapur area to catch hooligans, policemen tried to stop the miscreants who were on motorcycles, Gwalior Additional Superintendent of Police B.S. Chauhan said on telephone.

“However, they opened fire at Dayashankar and Ramlakhan and sped away. Both policemen have been admitted to the district hospital where their condition is still critical,” Chauhan said.
