BCA gives 14 As on latest hiring report card for women’s basketball

14 schools earn top scores on BCA report card

INDIANAPOLIS — Colleges and universities are doing a better job at being inclusive in women’s basketball coaching hires, according to the latest Black Coaches and Administrators hiring report card.

The latest grades, released Wednesday, showed 14 of 16 schools received A’s for their hires in 2007-08. Colorado State was the only school to get an F. Idaho did not receive a grade because of an oversight that prevented contact with the BCA.

Nine of the coaches hired last year were persons of color.

Those numbers are significantly better than in football where only seven coaches in the Football Bowl Subdivision are black.
