Bank robbery bid foiled in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A bank robbery bid was foiled Friday following a timely alert sounded by the bank officials in the capital. However, the robbers managed to escape after firing in the air.

‘Four armed robbers entered the Oriental Bank of Commerce branch at Minto Road in central Delhi this morning. However, the bank manger pressed the alarm, startling the robbers who then opened fire and fled the scene in a car,’ a senior police official told IANS.

An alert has been sounded in the capital to trace the vehicle, the official said, adding no was injured in the incident.
