Bandit arrested in Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW - A bandit wanted in over a dozen criminal cases, including murder, was Wednesday arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot district, police said.

Chukki Yadav, who carried a reward of Rs.35,000 for his capture, was caught by the Special Task Force after a shootout. He was wanted in both Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

“We nabbed him, with an accomplice, from Markundi village,” Additional Superintendent of Police Anant Dev told IANS. Two rifles were recovered from him.
