BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Ball Corp. says it is selling its plastic pail assets, including a manufacturing plant in Newnan, Ga., to BWAY Corp. for about $32 million.

Ball acquired the plant in 2006 when it purchased U.S. Can Corp. It employs about 110 people.

Ball Corp. Chief Operating Officer John A. Hayes says the sale is consistent with the metal and plastic packaging supplier’s strategy to focus on its core businesses. Ball is based in Broomfield, Colo.
