Police: Mich. man kills 2, including activist

OWOSSO, Mich. — A Michigan police chief says a 63-year-old anti-abortion activist who was protesting outside a high school was shot and killed in front of horrified students and parents.

Owosso police chief Michael Compeau (kahm-POW’) says Jim Pouillon (POOL’-yahn) was outside the school Friday morning with a sign when a man drove by and shot him. No one else was injured.

When authorities were responding to that shooting, officials received a report that another man had been shot and killed at a gravel pit business in the town 70 miles northwest of Detroit.

Shiawassee (shy-uh-WAH’-see) County Sheriff George Braidwood says Mike Fuoss (fooz) was found dead in his office.

Compeau says a 33-year-old Owosso man was later arrested in the school shooting and he then told police he was involved in the gravel-pit shooting.
