Australia won’t sell uranium to India, says Julia Gillard
By IANSMonday, August 31, 2009
NEW DELHI - Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard Monday reiterated that her country will not sell uranium to India as it is yet to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT).
Our decision was not aimed at India. As a principle, we don’t sell uranium to countries that have not signed the NPT, Gillard told reporters here.
Several Australian authorities have already said this on earlier occasions after India and the US signed the civil nuclear agreement last year.
Endowed with a sizable quantity of the world’s cheaply extractable uranium, Australia is a big exporter of the mineral. India needs uranium for its civilian nuclear reactors.

Flavion, I was talking about Australia and Australia only. Because I have brought all my hard earned money to Australia and Australia only. Not any where else. What I said about the South Australian Government policies is 100% true, without any doubt. I don’t understand why without understanding you started protecting them. Do you have any evidence for protecting Australian Governments. Yes, I do have and of course will present it in the International courts but not to you. |

I think it’s very unfair that so many Indians seem to want to make dreadful accusations about Australia, and Australians, and obviously don’t feel the need to back up what they say with any evidence. Let’s remember, an awful lot of Indian people have led prosperous and successful lives in Australia. Purushottama Bilimoria, Indira Naidoo, Mathai Varghese, Gorur Harinath. In fact, most people lead successful and prosperous lives in Australia. As for those who’ve immigrated to Australia and failed to prosper, they are fully entitled to harbour complicated theories involving the government and police all being in conspiracy against them. I would just urge people to take what they say with a grain of salt. If I wanted to, I could find plenty of well substantiated evidence of extensive corruption in India. I think the problem here is that some Indians are pointing their fingers at Australia but really talking about themselves. |

Australia is no doubt a Highly Racist Country. It’s not only for the students from other Asian Countries but even Businessess become the regular targets of the racissism in Australia. The most of the involvement in all these activities is these corrupt polititions. All this happens only and only because of this Unprofessional, Dishonest and Negligent Labor Governments. I migrated with my family sponsored by The South Australian Government from Dubai. My purpose of Migration to Australia was to get my son educated and do business and create jobs for Australians and live a quality and peaceful life. |
