Attorney denies Wesleyan suspect targeted school
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — A defense attorney says a man accused of killing a Wesleyan University student denies targeting anyone at the school, despite journal entries that indicate otherwise.
Hartford attorney Dick Brown says 29-year-old Stephen P. Morgan will plead not guilty to a murder count in Wednesday’s shooting death of Johanna Justin-Jinich.
Morgan was arraigned Friday, and bond was set at $15 million.
Court records show police found Morgan’s journal with an entry “I think it okay to kill Jews and go on a killing spree” and “Kill Johanna. She must Die.”
