AT&T buys VeriSign security consulting business
DALLAS — AT&T Inc. said Thursday it has completed a deal to buy VeriSign Inc.’s security consulting business.
Financial details were not disclosed.
AT&T said it will combine the business, which helps companies understand and combat online security threats, with its network security operations.
VeriSign, based in Mountain View, Calif., runs some of the key directories computers use to route users to Web sites.
AT&T shares fell 35 cents to $26.66 in afternoon trading, while VeriSign shares were down 72 cents, or 3 percent, to $22.97.
