American Public Education announces board changes
CHARLES TOWN, Va. — American Public Education Inc. on Thursday said that two of its directors are stepping down from its board.
The online higher education provider said David L. Warnock and Philip A. Clough, non-executive chairman of the board, are leaving the board. Warnock’s resignation is already effective and Clough plans to continue serving until the company’s annual meeting on May 14, 2010.
Both men are affiliated with the company’s former private equity investors, which have since liquidated their ownership in the company.
Shares of American Public Education rose $1.53, or nearly 5 percent, to close at $34.60 Thursday.
