Amazon.com makes ad links easy on Google’s Blogger

SEATTLE — Amazon.com Inc. is making it easier for bloggers using Google Inc.’s Blogger site to put ads on their blogs.

Bloggers who set up an account with Amazon Associates can quickly make links from their blog to relevant products on Amazon.com and earn referral fees for transactions.

Bloggers just highlight text within their blogs while editing and can turn them into links with a few clicks.

Google product manager Rick Klau said the company’s goal was to make Blogger the easiest platform for bloggers to make money on.

Amazon shares were up 29 cents at $128.65 in after-hours trading after closing down $1.87, or 1.4 percent, at $128.36. Google shares were up 39 cents at $598.15 in after-hours trading after closing up $4.62, or 0.8 percent, at $597.76.
