Aflac prices $400 million worth of notes

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Aflac Inc. said Monday it is selling $400 million worth of 30-year senior notes and will use the proceeds to repay about $450 million in debt coming due in July.

The supplemental insurer priced the debt to yield 6.984 percent interest.

Shares rose 59 cents to close at $47.14.
