Abducted bank manager killed in Jharkhand

RANCHI - A bank manager who was abducted late Friday has been killed by his captors and his bullet-ridden body was found Saturday in Jharkhand’s Palamau district, police said.

Vijay Kumar Sharma was kidnapped by six armed men when he was returning home on his motorbike. He was the manager of the Ramna branch of the State Bank of India in Garwah, around 145 km from Ranchi.

According to police, his body was found near Purnadih village, around 180 km from here.

We are trying to ascertain the cause of the killing. Personal enmity seems to be reason,” said a police officer.

Sharmas family did not receive any ransom call, the officer added.
