Denmark’s Nobel prize winner Aage Bohr dies

COPENHAGEN — Aage Bohr, a nuclear physics professor and Nobel laureate like his famed father Niels Bohr, has died at age 87.

Bohr in 1975 became the second Dane to be awarded the Nobel Prize for physics.

His father, Niels Bohr, who was colleague and close friend of Albert Einstein, was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics for nuclear research in 1922.

The institute named after his father where Aage Bohr was a professor of physics says Bohr died Tuesday.

The family told media a funeral would take place Monday.
