73 killed in two suicide attacks in Iraq

BAGHDAD - At least 73 people were killed in two suicide attacks in Iraq Thursday, the interior ministry said.

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a restaurant in the Diyala province, some 100 km northeast of Baghdad, killing 45 people and wounding 28. Many of the victims were Iranian pilgrims who were in Iraq to visit Shia holy sites.

Another suicide bomber struck a crowd of policemen in Baghdad’s central district of Karradah, killing 28 people and wounding 50, including a number of policemen.
