5.6-magnitude quake jolts northern Mexico

MEXICO CITY - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook the south of the Baja California peninsula in northern Mexico Monday, although no injuries or damage were reported.

Mexico’s National Earthquake Service said the epicentre of the quake, which happened at 4.59 a.m., was 115 km northeast of San Jose del Cabo, a major tourist destination.
