2 die as small plane crashes near Vancouver, B.C.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Officials in Canada say a small passenger plane on final approach to Vancouver International Airport crashed near an IKEA store, killing both people on board.
An airport spokeswoman says the plane nose-dived around 10 p.m. Thursday near the rear of the store, about three miles from the airport.
Police say no one on the ground was hurt.
Airport spokeswoman Alana Lawrence says the plane, arriving from Victoria, was a twin-engine Piper Navajo, which can carry up to eight people.
